One hundred years ago, on November 28, 1912, declared independence in Vlora, Albania. However, this independence was proclaimed not only for the Albanian state we know today.
Albania in 1912 meant a much larger area, with many more Albanians.
Albanians in this day and found yourself occupied, from all sides. Vlora was the only safe place, where the declaration of independence for the Albanian lands in four separate administrative unit of the Ottoman Empire, which this year was defeated by the Balkan powers. Therefore, 28 November 1912 is the day of grief.
Albanians living in the so-called Vilayet of Kosovo Vilayet of Shkodra, one of Ioannina and the Monastery, was violated and killed in their homes. Most of them were occupied, their lands became part of Greece, Serbia and Montenegro. Therefore, 28 November 1912 double evoke feelings, good and bad, sweet and bitter and humiliating proud!
If you stop at the positive aspect of this date, the state we know today as Albania, as it was, with the pros and cons of it, however, kept alive our national identity. This truncated Albania was our hope that will come better days, was the force that made us believe that we are not alone even when we were, was the feeling that made us stand up - even when we could not.
Shqiptarëtvazhdojnë to live separately. Kosovo is independent, but truncated, unlike what was perceived as Kosovo in 1912. Others are still in live scattered in Montenegro, Serbia, Macedonia and Greece, still continuing their fight, the more peaceful methods, rights belonging - their dignity.
The position of Albanians in the Balkans today is much better than our ancestors in 1912. But Albanians should work more, other anniversaries are best for our children. For November 28 is the day that reminds us to be ideal free and happy - on our lands.
Modern international politics, influenced by propaganda neighbors, our ideal union conceives as aggression against countries with which we confine ourselves. But we should not forget that this ideal?
No! All Albanians, wherever they live, are spiritually united on 28 November 2012. Is not this a proof that we are: one nation, with the same background, the same heroes, the same blood, next to each other, although in different countries?
Albania's declaration of independence of 1912, on 28 November 1912, was an ideal: Albania. Ideal that we should not forget. Never! Therefore, to the end, it's worth saying once again reminded of the great warrior of the Albanian national issue, Isa Boletin: "I'm good, when bone 'Shqipnia good."
His Albania and ours is the land where every Albanian living in the Balkans. Therefore, the Albanian luck, wherever you are, 28 November! Enjoy the pritshi, stronger, happier and more united, every other November 28.
