Project: Establishment of eLearning Centre in the Faculty of Economics.
The beneficiary of the project: Faculty of Economics, University of Prishtina.
Duration: 12 months;
Budget: $ 63.306
Summary:
The proposed project "Establishment of eLearning Centre in the Faculty of Economics, University of Prishtina" is parallel with the modernization of the processes of teaching and learning at the University of Prishtina. In addition, this center will help fulfill one of the most important recommendations of the Accreditation Agency, which is required for the inclusion of blended learning in the Faculty of Economics (FE).
Finally, the University of Pristina has invested heavily in upgrading the infrastructure of Information Technology. Thus, provided that the equipment will be delivered through this project, Faculty of Economics eLearning Center will be established and will make possible the connection and communication with the universities of the United States of America and beyond, by providing opportunities for collaboration and blended learning.
In addition, the project will give a new dimension to cooperation between the Faculty of Economics and Arizona State University, who has started since 2001. The project is designed structurally very carefully and covers all activities required to achieve the final stage, when blended learning will become a reality in the curriculum of the Faculty of Economics.
The aim of the project is the modernization of the teaching and learning in the Faculty of Economics (FE), developing a new channel to exchange knowledge and information for students (eLearning).
The specific objectives of the project are:
• Facilitate and strengthen cooperation with the Faculty of Economics of higher education institutions in the U.S.;
• Activity teaching and learning of mixed academic staff and students of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Pristina;
• Establishment of eLearning Centre in the Faculty of Economics;

Project: Increasing international exchange through the publication of new guidelines and the Institute for Social Studies and Humanities (ISI), which was established in 2011 as a unit of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Pristina).

Summary:
The project is based on two components: 1) International Cooperation in publications and 2) Developing tank engagement with students. The project includes a workshop (led by a teacher from the U.S.) in the student-centered instruction, international magazines, reader as a source of interdisciplinary teaching and research, and focus groups with students in reading.

The project addresses the lack of teaching faculty resources, lack of ndërdisiplinës and needs to develop new teaching practices. Together, international cooperation and further engagement of students will help strengthen the commitment of the initial faculty and students in academic production at the institutional level.

Totally, the project will establish guidelines for student-centered, faculty and students will gain experience in conducting and participating in reading groups and critical reading of texts, learning resources will be published and will be available for use in a number of academic courses and programs, ISS will build capacity for international cooperation, and in full creative thinking and critical analysis will be carried further into teaching and publication.

The aim of the project is to create educational resources and research in the Faculty of Philosophy through the further development of international academic exchange and capacity for long-term development and implementation of the curriculum.



Project: Design of the future
The beneficiary of the project: Graphic Design Department, Faculty of Arts, University of Prishtina
Duration: 2 months;
Budget: $ 28.600
Summary: Graphic Design Department is in the process of updating the curriculum, creating new materials and improving classroom resources.
Each academic year in our department we accept about 10-16 students. Learning resources for this number of students are very limited. Each class has 2-3 old computers.

This year we have established a connection with the Herberger Institute at Arizona State University, USA. In collaboration with faculty from both institutions, we want to create a conceptually driven program with an interdisciplinary approach to art making, which will be introduced as a new subject. This program will embrace creative practices, including interpretation, video, installation, web art and sketching.
Designing the Future event (writing, drawing and redesign the future of our environment) will be a result of this cooperation. Students will work on these ideas for two months and will eventually expose their work in the main event will be open to visitors and will be held in random places in the center of Pristina. During these two months will have online conferences with faculty Herbergerut Institute, as well as presentations, tutorials and critical reviews.

This project will be designed to be permanent and monthly event in downtown Pristina. This monthly event will bring together artists, performers and art students consistently presenting their work and ideas for visitors and people of Pristina.



Project: Support for academic development through cooperation with universities of the United States of America,
The beneficiary of the project: Faculty of Education and Faculty of Philology. University of Prishtina
Duration: 6 months
Budget: $ 40,000
Summary: Following the visit of two experts from the State University of Iowa in Kosovo to assess the needs of potential areas of cooperation and Kosovo needs teacher development and the development of teaching ESL, a team of professors from the University (Faculty of Philology, Department of English and the Faculty of Education at the University of Pristina) will hold a one-week visit to Iowa State University, in order to learn about the course and program design, instructional practices and interdisciplinary program implementation. This exchange of experiences will aim to produce tangible results for both universities.
The study visit aims to learn about teaching English as a second language, translation, education and science education practices. The study visit will allow you to review and Kosovar professors to rethink their previous practice and expand their concepts of teaching practice, student learning and course planning.
This visit will also create opportunities for exchange and collaboration for academic communities in both the United States and Kosovo, and will create the ground for future partnership of mutual projects, research and mobility between the two institutions. In addition, study visits will lead to the identification of relevant modern literature, which will be taken after the visit.
The purpose of the visits is to contribute to the joint modernization and internationalization of the curriculum in the Department of English Language and Literature and the Faculty of Education at the University of Prishtina.



Project: To support the development of diagnostic laboratories of the Department of Veterinary Medicine, the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary University.
Duration: 12 months
Budget: 20, $ 388

Summary:
Protecting the health of animals, we can protect the health of people, so we must have safe ways to identify and diagnose animal diseases, which are common with human disease and may be transmitted to us. To this end we wanted 20, $ 388 to implement a project for 12 months, which will help teachers and students of the School of Veterinary use some reliable tests to diagnose diseases accurately, for owners / patients better treatments and cheaper and Veterinary Department staff will assist project producing scientific paper based on the results of laboratory tests of samples of animals.
Veterinary Department will use the funds to address the importance of using this service diagnostics offered first to other vets offering them to create results and training accurate diagnosis and thus the increase their skills and efficiency, which would be able to prevent the entry of animal diseases on human health, arising from geographical area.
Description of Project:
Department of Veterinary Medicine objective is to develop the capacity and skills to provide services for students, veterinarians and government. One of the integral parts of this process is to create functional and laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases, as well as other. At the moment we have the infrastructure (building) to provide this service to students, veterinarians, but are lack of equipment and diagnostic tests.
With the availability of diagnostic tests and equipment we will be able to identify and diagnose diseases that are dangerous to animals and humans.
Project that can enable the delivery of equipment and better diagnostic tests address the actual problem.
The project will have a significant impact on improving animal health and human health. The project will have an impact on the education of a new generation of students. For Kosovo, it will have a positive effect on public health and education system for the field of veterinary medicine.
At this point there are no statistics and research findings on this topic because of the lack of laboratories.
The goals of the project:
The purpose of the proposed project is to increase capacity by supplying laboratory equipment and diagnostic tests that will enable students to increase their knowledge of testing, insurance and proper treatment of animals and lectures on statistical data and research tools.
At the end of them yearly project, the establishment of knowledge and experience among students (Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary) will enhance services for pets and large animals, and scientific data which will be obtained from laboratory work will be provided.
A great opportunity will be presented on how to create disease diagnosis (will be based on facts and not on assumptions). Students will acquire skills to use screening tests, which are easy to use while working. Researchers will have more positive attitudes towards the creation of new ideas from the laboratory research work in diagnostics. The project will be implemented in Pristina, the laboratory will refer to all veterinary stations currently operating in Kosovo. Kosovo belongs project, because it will increase the knowledge and skills of students and increase the protection of animal health and public health in general.
Project activities:
The project will be implemented by activating the device and using diagnostic test, initially started the project, conducting laboratory work for more than 100 veterinary clinics operating in Kosovo, as well as significant tools for students and professors for diagnostic purposes.
Activities will be led by Adem Rama, lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary. The beneficiaries will be the Kosovo Government (Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education).
Beneficiaries will be drawn by organizing information campaigns and the production of information materials about the services we offer, organizing workshops and seminars for interested parties.
The activity will take place in early January 2013 and ending in December 2013 and will continue over the coming years. Already existing curriculum was developed for the planned activity.
Cooperation will be established by the Kosovo Food and Veterinary Kosovo Chamber of veterinary and health care delivery for animals / people.
